Alarm at 7:00 am. Set a 45 minute timer. Sleep more. Up at 8:30 am and took Bubble, who had migrated to my bed, and Biscuit to breakfast. Brought coffee back to George and Tiny came too. Fetching food for the girls kept me busy for a bit. Once I finished my coffee, I was ready to go. Thirty minutes had past and Biscuit had only eaten half a biscuit. Why do children eat so slow?

I ushered them to the room to finish. I literally hid in the bathroom for a ten minute break from the whining. Came out and counted heads. Missing Tiny. I inquired where she was and I heard a small voice say, "I right here mommy!" George's body had eclipsed her entirely.

A short episode of Paw Patrol and George took the girls to get fuel. Leaving Brogden and I to cuddle with sounds of HGTV in the background. I wished I could lay here for hours but instead we have hours in the car today. Heading to St. Louis. We have pretty much finished the list of everything we set out to see. Making a beeline for Raleigh.

George replaced the oil filter while he filled up. Girls eagle eyed a Wendy's and politely asked for a cheeseburger. They each got their favorites and were happy.

I realized that our trip was coming to an end and it made me sad. George mentioned that he had to head out for his guy's trip soon after we got home and that made me feel jealous, mad, jipped, deserted, and put off. I have loved each second of this month with my family but I can't help but be sad that my maternity leave is coming to an end. I feel like George has something to look forward to with his guy's weekend and I have nothing. I know it probably doesn't make sense but I do have to understand that my hormones are still going crazy and it is normal.

Writing postcards helps to pull my mood around. We have collected them from each stop. Most are getting sent to grandparents. I have not done a good job of sending them when we buy them. Now I have a stack of 30+ cards that need to be sent before we beat them home.

Iowa state line did not have a good place to take a picture except a huge sign on the side of the interstate. Welcome centers need to do a better job of having a state sign with the bathrooms for me. Iowa does have a boat on land as a museum so we check that out. Bubble and Biscuit exclaimed, "Models! I love models. Models, models everywhere!" At. Each. Model. They loved the place.

Twenty minutes on the playground to get the wiggles out and back in the car to finish up postcards. All sent from a post office in a little Iowan town.  Stopped for me to use the bathroom at a gas station out of town. Biscuit came into pee as well and requested that I look to see if they have seaweed for her snack.  Silly girl.

Back on the interstate, the girls fell asleep and George and I get back into the swing of audio book and blog work.

Missouri state line required the girls to be woken up. Excuse me. Angry girls to be woken up. All the screams for one take. Bless me.

Spent over 50 minutes searching for an Iowa state sign. No such luck. Lots of corn though. I don't understand how one state can have so many welcome centers and no state sign. Get it together Iowa.

Another 30 minutes at a truck stop taking girls in and out of the bathroom. This drive is taking forever.

Kansas City for BBQ and a picture for me. Look up pit BBQ for George and most of the places are lunch only or close at 8:00 pm. We are due to arrive at 8:20 pm. No good. Found one place that was open until 9:00 pm. Gas light. That dern light always interferes with our plans at the most unfortunate times. Biscuit spotted the pumps and we glided in on fumes. LC's BBQ. Arrive now at 8:38 pm. George ordered a mixed plate and we debated on eat-in or to-go. Quick glance at the watch made the decision. The guy's working were awesome and even picked up on Biscuit's personality and had some fun with her.

Off to find the FFA who plaque for my picture. It is not technically located at the site of Hotel Baltimore. The newest owners of the building wanted it removed. The signs were relocated a few blocks away at the public library parking garage. But anyway. Picture check.

It was my plan to eat at the illuminated parking garage but George did not agree. Settled on a Lowe's lot under a light. BBQ and Lowe's. George's favorites. And so good. He said it might beat the Kings Cake snocone out from the number one thing he has eaten on this trip. Seriously. That meat was amazing.

Three hours still to St. Louis where we are staying so the girls pick Dumbo since it contains Tiny's song, Baby Mine. They figured that it would help them all sleep.  Well that disc was all scratched from girls playing with it while we were waiting for a campsite at Yellowstone. Settled for Chuggington. They quickly fell asleep after the last episode played.

Creeped into the neighborhood of George's friend we were staying with around 1:00 am. I am glad everyone that knows us is understanding of how we travel. And arrive.
